In December 2015, South Burlington resident Payton Pellegrini opened a new painting party studio at One Executive Drive, Suite 204, South Burlington, VT.  Payton is the owner and sole instructor of painting parties geared mainly toward adults. Guests can sign up for the party they want to participate in on Payton’s website calendar system.  Payton leads the party with step-by-step instructions so that even those who have never painted before are able to follow along to create their own work of art.  She provides all the materials and upbeat music for painting (and singing) along.

Pellegrini is a trained artist, a certified painting teacher and an interior designer.  She previously ran her own interior design/home staging business as well as a mural painting and faux finishing business.  Payton believes that everyone has a creative side and she enjoys helping people to realize their creative potential in a fun and relaxing way.   In September of 2014, she started her painting party business by partnering with local venues that hosted her events, did team building parties for businesses and also brought her painting parties to private homes.

Payton wanted to create a special space for people to reconnect, create and renew (which is her business tagline).  She used all her talents to renovate and decorate a former office space, creating a comfortable, home-like environment with a vintage style, by re-purposing items, sewing tablecloths, crafting things, painting furniture with decorative finishes and designing theme decorations that change each month. The space includes a large studio area and a separate kitchenette/living room for guests to feel relaxed.  Light snacks and beverages are included (Payton occasionally bakes homemade treats) and guests may bring in their own food to enjoy while painting or have food catered from nearby restaurants for private parties.

Payton’s parties are alcohol-free.  She feels that many “paint and sip” businesses emphasize getting tipsy and their paintings are secondary.  Payton wants her guests to realize that they don’t need alcohol in order to be creative and encourages them to incorporate some form of creativity into their everyday lives as a healthy thing to do.  Her paintings tend to have more detail to them so that painters (even beginners) can feel very proud of what they have accomplished.  Painting with Payton parties are open to all and private parties in the studio may also be booked.  To learn more, visit PaintingWithPayton.com.

The Second Edition of our Hand Wisdom Book - Hand Wisdom: A Holistic Guide to Hand Injuries and Your Health is available now!

Are you a healer, e.g. massage therapist, energy/Reiki healer, hand therapist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, chiropractor, hand analyst, palmist, reflexologist …. ? This is a great reference book for your library. Psst! It also makes a great and affordable gift for your colleagues.
    The new edition contains:
    • Even easier step-by-step instructions on how to use the book
    • Expanded information on possible challenges for all segments of the palms and finger zones
    • We’ve added the wrist, forearm and elbow to help when the pain presents in your hands
    • More additions in the injuries and issues section

Here are just few responses from folks who purchased the book:
I'm very conscious about the "near misses" (injuries) in my own hands and what it means. Your words in Hand Wisdom Book really resonated with classmate who'd banged up her right index finger. Your narrative was spot on. She had new insights into what had transpired before she slammed her hand on the desk out of frustration and the ensuing injury. ~ R.B. Hand Analyst

Hands are not my area of expertise but my studies of metaphysics and dis-ease in combination with treating patients for 30 years definitely correlate with this book and gives me a better tool to sort my treatment ideas, especially if the person reports prior hand/wrist issues. Some of it's quite amazing. ~ S. S. Energy Healer

I believe the connections you make are so true and there are times when treating patients, they get the other part of what is keeping them from getting better, and sometimes I get that it's my role to help them to see beyond the paradigm of their thoughts and belief patterns - not curing them but helping them to heal and take control of their life again - not letting the pain and injury take control of them. ~ K.F. Physical Therapist

It took me a few minutes to figure out how to use the half pages. Now I love the layout and ease of use. Makes so much sense. ~ A. P. Chiropractor

As a newly trained Hand Analyst, the brief and concise knowledge in your descriptions helped me to further my understanding of aspects of the hands that I hadn't pulled together yet. ~ E. R. Hand Analyst

Got the drift? More than curious? GO HERE for more information and to order the book.

May You Thrive and Be Free of Dis-ease,
Janet Savage, MHA, MPH, Co-Author of Hand Wisdom
